What: Community feast to honor the Paddle to Protect
Where: Sandy Lake Recreation Area, Libby Dam Pavillion -22205 531st Ln, McGregor, MN 55760
When: September 2, 2pm-5pm

Join us to celebrate the Paddle to Protect youth as they conclude their 250 mile canoe voyage through the Mississippi headwaters honoring the territories and communities threatened by the Enbridge Line 3 pipeline.

This epic journey culminates at the historic Big Sandy Lake, where hundreds of Ojibwe people died of starvation, exposure, and disease, after the US Government failed to deliver the rations and annuities in 1850. Line 3 threatens the Big Sandy and Flowage watershed, a vital wild rice bed that local communities depend on to this day. The youth have invited local leaders to speak about the urgency of joining together to protect our water.

Please join us to celebrate and build a strong community around protecting our water!
